One World One Heart 2011

Welcome to the fifth and final blog hop adventure known as One World One Heart. I've been participating and visiting other blogs since the beginning. It's been a wonderful ride and I've made a few friends and gotten to know a lot of other bloggers along the way!
If you click on the OWOH logo above you’ll be taken to Lisa’s blog A Whimsical Bohemian, who has been the host of this wonderful event for all these years. Thank you Lisa,
for organizing such a wonderful event!
It's time to spread the love....
I decided to have 3 prizes for my giveaway.
So 3 lucky people will win.

1st prize package are some quilt patterns, a fat quarter, a thrifted heart and
a little quilting sign.

2nd prize is a package of fabric postcard backs, a fat quarter and
love magnet

My 3rd prize package is just a mix of patterns, some fabric to get you started,
a thrifted heart pin and some hanging hearts.

To be eligible to win you must have a blog, you must leave a comment on this post only and make sure I have a way to contact you should you win. I will choose winners through the random number generator and announce those winners on February 17th. I will also contact all winners to let you know you've won.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck!

Sunday.......

It's a home day today for me. I found a window panel in the thrift store. I folded it in half to give it more thickness. For a buck, great investment!
Worked great for the one window I needed it for.

My cooking for the day. Will be BLT's and crockpot Potato Soup. Yum! I've used this recipe over and over. It's true and tried. So simple to make!

Combine 1 can ckn broth, 4 cups of cubed peeled potatoes, 1 cup chopped onion, 1 cup chopped celery, 1/2 cup sliced carrots, 3 tbl butter, 1 tsp salt and pepper and 3 cloves of chopped garlic. Cook this in the crock for one hour on high. Then turn to low, cook for approx 3 hrs or until vegetables are tender. If ready, turn to high setting. Combine 1/4 cup flour and 1.5 cups of milk. Wisk until well blended. Stir into soup. Cover and cook uncovered for 25 mins or until thick. Stirring frequently. When ready to serve, sprinkle with cheese.

Yum!

Stay warm and have a wonderful Sunday!

Snow Day!

Another round of snow came by last night. Actually, started yesterday morning and
lasted most of the day.
Driving home from work was awful.

When I tried to get in this morning, I turned right around.
Too slippery for me. Didn't feel comfortable driving in it.
Called work, they told me to take the day off.
SNOW DAY!
I love snow days!

So today was all about cleaning, getting ready for the OWOH event and cooking
some turkey chili.
Have a wonderful day!

Brrrr..

Snow

Snow

And more snow is expected to come.
Our temps have been dropping and the wind is picking up. It's the kind of
cold that goes right to your bones. No matter how many layers you have on.
I'm so done with winter. Sure hoping for an early Spring.
Have a wonderful weekend!
