The kids are back to school! Spring break is over. What is it about Spring break? I know I cooked more, so that meant more dishes to clean. The kids must of changed their clothes at least 2 times a day, so that meant more laundry. Between fishing, beach days, sleepovers and a trip to the zoo. Taking them to their friends house and picking them up. I don't think there was a day that I had to myself on Spring break. Every night I hit that pillow and fell right off to sleep. Only to wake again to another day of things to do. It was a busy week and we had perfect weather. I guess we couldn't of asked for more.
To answer my own question.......Spring break is all about the kids!
Have a good day!

Gosh, it's been a bit since I've been on. I guess with Spring and the temps being up there on some days, just don't want to be in sitting on the computer. I also joined Weight Watchers and been walking whenever I can. So far, first week.....7.8lbs. I know it's all water, but it feels great. Gives me an incentive to keep going. Needed to do it for myself.
Been working on a couple of swaps. Wont let me post pictures, so need to wait on that. My Easter swap will be going out this week. Cant wait to pack it up, had fun with that one. Received a package from Susan this week. From the "OWOH" drawing. And also received my Easter package from Pam. Still not able to post pictures. :( Great packages! I love receiving things in the mail.
Well off I go to start the day. Heading out to the flea market this morning. I'm sure with the sun shining, they'll be plenty of vendors to look at. Plus, need to get some fruit and vegetables.
Have a good day!

We were suppose to get some snow last night, but woke up to rain. It washed all the snow away that was leftover from the week. Since the sun was shinning, I figured I go in the yard and pick up. I started picking up the branches that have fallen from the trees. There I saw it...something yellow........
Could it be????
The first sign of Spring?

Received a package from Deb today. It was for the "One World One Heart"drawing off of her blog. She made me a lovely heart plant poke, very cute. And a heart made from 2 baking tins. I love the glitter and the feathers around it. Think I'm going to leave it out to enjoy it. Thank you Deb, your very crafty.
Pot Roast for dinner tonight. The store had a sale on asparagus, so throwing that in the pot to cook a bit before serving. Wanted to add something other than potato and carrots.

Tag-I'm It
I've been tagged by Susan and Tania. First time! I'm suppose to list 7 random things about myself.
Here goes ~
1. I am always up and about around 5-5:30 a.m.
2. I don't like getting fresh flowers as gifts. (only because they don't last and I'd rather receive a plant)
3. Don't like cleaning pots. I usually let them soak and wait till dh does them. :)
4. I love pretzels and sour cream.
5. I'm mostly an herbal tea drinker.
6. I rather hang out my clothes than to use the dryer.
7. I rather go get a good slice a pizza than go to a nice restaurant.
Sorry, I'm not one for chain letters or such. Plus, I wouldn't know who to pass this along to. So if you'd like to play along. Consider yourself tagged! Your it!

Snow Day!
Finally snow! The kids are thrilled to have a snow day. It's been a long time for us. Usually we don't get snow. Maybe a coat here and there nothing to write home about. Right now it's still snowing and we are up to 4".
We were outside early this morning cleaning off the cars and driveway. The kids and I had a blast. Even made some snow angels.
Here is the little one is telling me he is cold and wet. Needs to come inside to warm up. Says, he would like some hot chocolate and maybe some soup. MMMM! Sounds good to me.
Everything is hung up to dry out for our next trip outside. Which I know will be coming soon. :)
Have a good day!

Dinner to go....
Today I made some Sweet N Sour Ribs in the crock. It is a great pot luck meal to bring to a function. Makes a good batch. Dh loves to pack it for lunch. Along with a side salad, cant go wrong.

SWEET N SOUR RIBS
3-4 lbs boneless country style ribs
1 can (20 oz) pineapple tidbits, undrained
2 cans (8oz) tomato sauce
1/2 cup onion, sliced
1/2 cup green pepper, sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 Tbl Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, mince
dash salt and pepper
Place ribs in a greased crock pot. In a bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; stir well. Pour over the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until meat is tender. Serve over rice or noodles.

Do kids sleep? Is it, the older they get, the longer they want to stay up? One of my older boys wanted some kids over for the night. Thinking it wont be that bad, a couple of kids, I said okay.......8 came through the door. I could tell you this. If I dont hear that Rock Band anymore, it would'nt bother me at all. Especially the drum part!!
Knowing I had to get some sleep, I finally went to bed around 1:30, then woke at 4:30 to kids still up. I found myself rather tired, couldnt imagine how they felt. Then around 5:00 I heard nothing. No drumming, no guitar, nothing, silence. Thinking this is great, went back to bed only to get back up around 7:00 to kids fully charged. Couldnt believe they were going full force. They stayed most of the day to play some more. When that doorbell started ringing at 2:00 for the first one to leave. I was a happy camper.
Now I must get ready to take my son to his hockey game. Going to stop for some hot coffee and hope the game goes fast. Cant wait for my head to hit the pillow tonight. Because of the holiday tomorrow, we could all sleep in. Yeah!
Have a good night!

Finishing up on my "Sweetheart Swap" to Sue. We had to alter a heart shape candy box and fill it up with treats. The treats could be anything, but everything had to be heart shaped. Found the fabric on sale for $1.00 a yard at Walmart. Couldn't pass that up. Then I just went from there.
So Sue, don't peek! Sure hope you like your box of goodies. Should be getting it by weeks end.
Now onto finishing up another swap.
Have a good day!
Susan
