Welcome Summer!

The joys of opening the pool and keeping it clean.
Picking up all the towels and pool toys.

The joys of going picking, the blueberries were awesome this year!

Keeping the flowers from wilting,

by watering them morning and night.
We've gotten no rain and the temps are in the 90's.

The heat came on fast this year.
Hoping for some relief, until then.
I will water morning and night.

Here is to many lazy summer days!
Happy Summer!

Itch, Itch...

After working around the yard. I seem to have gotten some poison ivy. Funny thing. I think it's going away, but just seems to spread. Had it since last Monday. It started on my forehead and then my scalp. It was awful.
I just want it to go away. I've bought lotions, sprays, and even some pills to take the itch away. Nothing seems to be helping. I've tried everything except pour bleach on the infected areas. Which someone did suggest. I haven't even given that tip a thought.
What do you do when you get poison ivy? Have any homemade recipes or cures?
Would love to hear!

At least the gardens are weeded and cleaned up for a bit. Next time, I'll be on the lookout to avoid it. But honestly, I didn't see any.

Enjoy your week!

Grill Daddy Review

In our home, we grill all year long. We love to cook outside on the grill. But the task of cleaning it, Yuk! The caked on mess after you grill and the grease. That's the worse part about grilling, cleaning the grates. So when I had an opportunity to try a new gadget. the Grill Daddy, I jumped at the chance. I've seen the commercials all over TV and I also seen it out in the stores.

I started with warming up the grill and filling the Grill Daddy with water.

Once it was ready, I started. Turned the knob and I was off scrubbing away. When the water hits the grill, it creates steam which helps get the cooked on gunk off. I did have to scrub a bit. It took a bit of elbow grease, but easy to hold and easy to use.

The bristles on the brush are very sharp, so it was really getting around those grates and into the corners. I just kept scrubbing and scrubbing. The more I scrubbed the easier it was to get off. Have to say it worked. It has a hook on the end so you can hang it by the grill to keep it handy. It will be one gadget I will use whenever I grill. Clean up was a snap.

I plan to pick up some as gifts. Father's Day is coming, Dad would love this.

Please note that I received no form of monetary compensation for this post. This is a Mama Buzz review and I did receive a sample of the product to try in order to write a fair and honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own and were not influenced in any way.

MIA.........

The reason for missing, a job. I can now say that I work full time. I'm no longer a stay at home mom. Which I loved! My job takes up most of my day, 7:30-5:00. By the time I get home and finish what I have to do, I just drop. Need to manage my time better. I'm thankful that when my husband is home, he picks up, laundry, errands, cooking, cleaning anything that needs to be done. He does. I miss my days of just going with the flow. Now I have to be on time someplace, every morning. Which I always were for things. But something about punching a clock, you just have to. Now I have to listen to someone. Which sometimes, if I didnt want to hear it, I tuned it out. Can't! There are alot of pros and alot of cons. I think what it basically comes down to. A paycheck. Which I'm really loving that. But it goes out as fast as it come in.

Hoping to get back on track and start reading the blogs. I do miss my days on this computer, I miss seeing what everyone is doing. I miss talking with my friends. I need to adjust and just move on. I really have to give credit where credit is due. Being a stay at home mom, it's alot. But being a mom and having a job on top of that. WOW, blows me away sometimes.

Here is to better timed days and lighter work loads. Really need to pick up a paint brush or just go to the thrift stores. My gosh, how I miss those thrift stores.

Hope all is well with everyone, I will be visiting shortly!

Thrifty finds.....

Found this bin at a garage sale for $2.00. Great shape and with a price like that, couldn't pass it up.
This plant stand was only a $1.00. Really didn't like the gold, but I see potential.

I came across 2 boxes of these while cleaning.
I'm thinking, pin cushions?

Would love to hear your creative thoughts.
Plus, if you have any creativity, throw it my way.
Been lacking in that department lately.
Need to get the juices running again.

Colors of Spring

This was the second batch of flowers that I cut from my garden. Love the burst of color when they open up.
Took a ride to the farm and started checking out some plants. I always wait till Mother's Day to plant. But boy, going through the green house, I was itching to pick up some plants.

But I was good. Just kept on walking and looking at all the different types out there. I did happen to pick up some Pansies for my mom.

She loves putting them into her baskets and pots on her patio. The colors were just beautiful, they just popped right at you. It wasn't hard at all picking some of these.

I have bunches of these popping up all over the place. Front of the house and the back yard. I'm surprised they still are popping in the back yard. With Chloe on the prowl, usually nothing stays alive.

My plum and pear trees take my breath away in the Spring. The way the colors just come out in the trees. I could just sit out there all day looking at them. Just wished the colors would last longer.
I love Spring for the new beginnings that it brings to everything outside. From the birds singing to the flowers breaking through the ground. A fresh start for everything.

Bunny Swap!

This was the wonderful package that I got from my Bunny Swap partner Sarah. My son and I loved opening up all the gifts. Everything was wrapped in pink paper. So it took him some time to open everything up. Loved everything in the box. We already dug up some dirt outside over the weekend for the seeds she sent. Thank you Sarah for being my partner and thank you to Mizmollye for being a wonderful host.

Finished!

Finally finished my first quilting project. It took me 4 classes to do it.
Loved how it came out!
I need some help on the corners, which I know will come in time.
Just have to keep at it.
Looks wonderful on my table with my first batch of flowers from the garden.
Now, I have to look for another project before Friday's class.
Signed up with a group that meets twice a month.
There will be helpers in the class to help me along.
Help is something I'm going to need.
I know this, from reading some of the directions on some things I'd like to make.

Thrifty Finds

Found myself a couple of goodies. The first goodies I found was this tree. It had 4 glass eggs with it. Only a $1.00!

Each egg was painted differently. I'm not sure if this was a store item or if someone painted it themselves. Either way, I love it. Thinking I might just paint the tree.

Got a couple of magazines, which I love to go through. Some felt, in all different colors and a beautiful candle holder that holds the egg candles. Which I already have a carton of. Got the whole bunch above for $1.50.

This was all in a bag for 50 cents. How could I pass that up.

Found this plant holder. It called my name. :) For 75 cents. I know it would look good on my fence, in a different color. I also picked up some clay pots and plastic pots for the outside. There was a guy at the market selling spray paint at 50 cents a can. Couldn't pass that up, we bought a couple of each color.

We rarely iron in our house. Only if it's a special occasion or I have to iron some fabric. We don't even have an iron board. We use whatever space is around. So when I came across this little number, I grabbed it. $2.00! Now I can say, I have an iron board. Also has the cutest material.
I love to hit the thrift shops. Never know what you could find.
