Finishing up on my "Sweetheart Swap" to Sue. We had to alter a heart shape candy box and fill it up with treats. The treats could be anything, but everything had to be heart shaped. Found the fabric on sale for $1.00 a yard at Walmart. Couldn't pass that up. Then I just went from there.

So Sue, don't peek! Sure hope you like your box of goodies. Should be getting it by weeks end.

Now onto finishing up another swap.

Have a good day!

Some goodies to get me started with my Valentine's swap. Would like to finish up with it by the end of the week. This will be a first in the "heart" department in swaps for me. Hoping my partners will like what I send. I know I'm making two of everything. Just because I usually make one and always say, should of made one for myself. Not taking any chances this time around. Making one for myself.

Think I found myself a keeper recipe for bread pudding. Been looking for awhile and trying different ones. Thinking this might be the one. Once it was cooled, didn't last long at all. Was gone in no time.
Bread Pudding
6 slices of day old bread
2 tbl butter melted
21/2 cup raisins
2 cups milk
4 eggs beaten
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Break bread into small pieces and put into a 8" greased pan. Mix in raisins. Drizzle melted butter over bread. In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Whisk well. Pour over bread. Slightly push down the bread with a fork. Making sure all the bread is covered an soaking in the egg mixture. Bake in the oven for approx 45 mins or until tip springs back when lightly touched.
Enjoy!

Turned out to be a beautiful day today. Up into the 40's and the sun was shinning. Did some much needed cleaning. Then took a ride to the craft store for some supplies I needed in the valentine's swap. Went in for one thing, came out with many. I seem to have many of those kinds of trips. Wanted to just run in and out. Well almost an hour later, still in the store. I guess I just get to caught up looking at this and that. My kids were not with me, so I cant blame them. All me this time. :)

My friend Lynda sent me a new recipe. Trying it tonight! My favorite kind,a crock pot recipe. Dont know what I would do without it.

Crock pot stew ~

3 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 lb carrots, cut into pieces
1 onion, chopped
2lbs stew meat cut into 1" cubes
1/3 cup butter
2 TBL flour
1 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp pepper

Place potatoes, carrots and onion in the crock. Brown meat in butter in pan. Transfer meet to crock. With pan drippings, add flour, stir until brown and well blended. Add water. Bring to a boil, cook and stir until thickened. Add salt, parsley, celery seed, thyme and pepper; pour into crock. Cover and cook on low for approx 8 hours or until meat and vegetables are tender.

Monday, Monday

Down to the single digits last week and now up to at least 60 today. Crazy weather! Figured since we are having this nice weather. Started with some yard work yesterday. All my decorations are down and boxed away. Figured I'd do it now, or they will be up for awhile in the cold weather. I do see sometimes some do leave the lights up around their home. Why do you think that is? Lazy or just waiting for the holidays to come again.

Joined a couple of swaps over the weekend. One at, From My Cherry Heart and the other at The Junk Drawer. Should be alot of fun. Need to pull out some of my stash of fabric and get my wheels turning. Plus maybe a trip to the craft store to see what they have. Have a couple of ideas just need to run with them.

Off to start the day and to get some more laundry out. Staying home today to do some more yard work. Maybe I'll take a walk with the pups.

Enjoy your day!

Baby It's Cold Outside......

And I don't want to go out! But errands call, have no choice. The temps have dropped down into the single digits and the wind is just whipping outside. To say the least.....it is COLD! We even had a few flakes yesterday. Brrr! I think someone told me there was 80 something days till spring. I cant wait, would like it to come now.

Stay warm!
