Day After Christmas....

and we got a blizzard. It started Sunday morning and didn't let up until around 1:00 this morning. Last night, you couldn't see in front of you. The state had declared an emergency. So most places will be closed. The roads haven't been plowed yet. Even hearing reports some have been stuck on the road since last night. Couldn't imagine. Just hope all is safe and warm.
The kids are on winter break, so is mom! We will just be chilling in the house. Picking up after the holiday and maybe some baking. Tomorrow we already have plans to go sleigh riding.
Happy Snow Day!

Jingle, Jingle

The girls and I got together to do some ornaments. Happy that my friends were there to guide me. After being there for a couple of hours. This is all I did. There was just to much to munch on and some good conversation to share.
There is just something about the color red around Christmas time. Seems to stand out more to me. With the red bows, poinsettias and those red lights. I love those red lights. Thinking of doing the red theme next year.

I still have some ornaments to hang and some to ship out. The last of my mailings with swaps and cards. I started getting my ornaments from some swappers. Need to take some pictures and post all the wonderful ornaments I received. Such talent.

I scored the heart wreath for ten cents at the thrift store. I added the flowers and the bow from my stash. Love it! Now it hangs over my fireplace and will stay there for the winter.
To everyone getting snow, stay safe and warm!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Tis' The Season......

can't believe December is here. The stores have been packed and it just seems so many more cars on the road. Some places, you would think they were giving things away. I already started my shopping, online! Best thing about it, you don't have to leave the house. Lot's of places are giving free shipping, so how can you beat that. I just have to make sure I get the boxes when they are delivered and not the kids.

I still have boxes out and about all over. Still putting up lights and holiday decorations. Just seems to be more and more every year. Tomorrow I should be finished. I would have some pictures to post, but cant find my wire to connect to the computer. Dh changed things around and put it someplace, forgot where he did. So I must hunt for it. Been working on some ornaments also. Have a couple of swaps to fill, so excited to see what everyone is making this year. Already mailed my oversea packages so they'll be there in time. I know it takes a bit longer to receive.

Going to make some cookies now and maybe some bread. Have a new recipe for carrot cookies with cream cheese frosting. MMM! Will go great with that cup of tea. I have a cookie swap to get ready for in 2 weeks. So have a couple of different recipes to try out. Anyone have any good ones to share, please pass them along.

Have a Holly Jolly Weekend! Spread that holiday cheer!

Weekend Finds

The beautiful weather we had over the weekend. Bought everyone out. The markets were packed. The first one I hit. Found this great wicker table, sled and package of red Christmas balls. He wanted $10 for the table, got it for $5. I started talking to him after he told me the price. Got to talking, then offered $5, he said why not. Yeah! The sled, wooden with wrought iron. Has to be sanded down and painted, scored that for $2 and the box of bulbs, got for a buck.

The second market this weekend. Got myself a 3qt crock for $3. Great shape and the insert comes out. Already have a couple of the larger crocks. This one will be perfect for a side dish or just something smaller I want to cook. Got another sled. I don't know what it is, have a thing for sleds lately. It was only $2 and the ornament 50 cents. The candle snuffer was a $1.00. The tray, was a gift from my girlfriend. Something someone gave her and she passed it to me. Which I love!

The usually purchase of produce, potatoes, onions and oranges. The cauliflower, I couldn't pass up, I bought 3 of them for $3.oo. It was so nice a white.

I really enjoyed my weekend. Shopping and weather wise, just couldn't beat it. Great way to start the week!

Have a great week!

Until Next Year.......

Why is it, it takes so long for Halloween to come around. Then it's gone in a blink of an eye. We all had a blast this Halloween. The weather was a bit chilly, but it didn't stop us at all. The kids have so much candy, will last them for a couple of weeks at least.

Love these hats I found at Kohl's. With a coupon and a discount on top of it, got them for $4 a piece. I picked up 5 of them. They were the table centerpieces for the party. At night, they really looked cool.
I think I had enough sugar to last me for a year. After all the celebrating, I still managed to hold on gaining any lbs. I'm at 6lbs and holding steady. Gosh, how those Almond Joys are calling my name.

Happy to say, I didn't have one cupcake. Even though I really, really wanted to just lick the icing off of everyone of them. That was a tough one not to do. I didn't bake them, so they weren't around waiting for all to eat. And I did send the leftovers home with everyone. So I wasn't tempted to lick that icing off.

The shopping days are upon us for the holiday season. Already started. Passing along this great coupon for Yankee Candle - B2G2 Free Hope you can use it!

Sunny Sunday!

The temps are a bit warmer and the sun is shining. Beautiful day outside. Our leaves are starting to change and the colors are beautiful. I have my crock all set for dinner, laundry on the line and food shopping done. So that leaves me to start decorating for Halloween. Decided to host a party next weekend. Any spooky recipes, please pass them along. I did all my lights inside and out. Now I just have to add the other things to make it come together.

On my windows, I will have purple lights with bats hanging. And a dollar store find of some draping that I threw over the windows. At night, it looks really cool.

I found 3 sheets of foam in the garage. So figured I would make some tombstones. I first painted the sheets grey and then cut the sizes I wanted of them. Then I will be spray painting them black. Will finish them up today. It is a very simple and inexpensive decoration. Cant wait till its done.

Would love to stay and chat some more. But I think that sun is calling me. Hope the sun is shinning by you! Oh, btw, been sticking to my plan. Up to 3lbs. It's a start.

Take care!

Susan

Why?

I ask myself. Why? Why did I have that can of soda, when I had my bottle waters with me. Why? Why did I have a pizza with everything on it, instead of a salad. Why? Why do I do good all day, then eat more at night. And the things at night, aren't healthy. I do this all the time. Why? I start out eating healthy during the day. Then at night when I get home, its a free for all. Keep telling myself, the next day or I'll start over in the morning. I want to feel better about myself. I want to fit in my skinny clothes. Something I haven't been able to do in a long time. I just want to be able to stick to a plan and do it.

My decorations are going up and the colors are popping! I love this time of year. Tomorrow is a new day, and it's Friday!

Have a good one!

Fall Is In The Air

As you can tell, our leaves haven't started to change yet. The temps certainly have for us. This weekend was jacket weather. For the week coming up, the weathermen say 60-70's. Big change from the 90 degrees and above we had all summer. I've started walking 3 times a week again. Usually after work with my son. He bikes, I follow. I really need to stay on track and just do it. Sometimes I'm so tired after the day I just don't want to and I say tomorrow. I say that about alot of things. I'm also back on WW. Really need to start feeling better about myself. Plus with winter coming. I find myself stuck in a rut at times and I don't want that. I want to just go with the flow and fit into my skinny clothes again! Just going to take one day at a time and do it. No more pumpkin lattes, no more ordering out for lunch and nothing more to eat after 8:00.

Today, I'm home to play. I have tons of boxes out of the attic to unpack. My Fall decorations await!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Happy Fall.......

first official day of Fall and the weather still feels like summer. That's okay though. I'm moving things around and getting ready to get my decorations out. I love unpacking the boxes to see what I have. My favorite time of year. This weekend, it's a home weekend. So I'll have most of my Fall things up. Anyone else decorating for the season??

Hope all is well with everyone!

Bottle This Day........

Would love to keep it all year. It was just beautiful out today. Hot, not humid. There was a breeze, which made perfect hanging weather. With the weather we had this summer, this was a welcome change. Just wish it would of been these kind of days instead of those hot, sticky, humid ones we had.

Today was a home day. Figured it was so nice outside, why not start outside.
So started cleaning up the plants.

Getting to be the last of the cukes. Had a bunch I needed to use, so just made cucumber salad.
I just love the vinegar taste.
Stirs up fast, plus it's inexpensive. I added some tomatoes to mine. Had some of those I had to use also.

Getting down to the last of them. Only a couple of bushes left and they look hammered.
I pulled out the ones that werent going to make it.

The ones that are still left. Are
still flowering and making tomatoes!

Just wish we had gotten some rain this year.
The hot weather did them in. I think I would
of gotten more on the plant.

Tomorrow is going to be another home day.

Have a wonderful Saturday evening and
a better Sunday!

Garage Sale Weekend

We had a garage sale this pass weekend. Figured I had yard work to do in the front. So why not put some things outside. It was a beautiful weekend to have one. Everyone was out and about, so we did get alot of traffic. There were people that didn't care anything about the price. There were people that wanted things for free.

For the most part. I did get rid of some treasures. I did do a big declutter in the house. Only kept things that meant something to me. If it was sitting around collecting dust, it was out of here. If it hasn't been used or not intended on being used, out of here.

The most sales we made was with the bottles of water. I went through almost a case and a half. The fact that their were some soccer games down at the field helped a bit.

Around noon time, my neighbor bought out the babies to feed. Out of 4, only one followed her all the way to the fence. He drank that bottle so fast.

When he was done, he wanted more. They sure are the cutest when they are small like this.

Have a good week!

Happy Friday!

We got some cooler weather today. Suppose to be even cooler tomorrow. Any day is good as long as the temps are below 90 degrees. I can take the heat, not the humidity. I think the plants feel the same way. All of my tomatoes and flowers are doing good. Thanks to all the watering I've been doing. Morning and night sometimes. I think one day of a soaking rain would be good. Plus, I need a day off from watering. :)

The new neighbors have been out and about. Can you see the new additions. They are the cutest. Now they are starting to come up to the fence to check things out. The older ones usually push them away. Gosh, would love to have one. That is as long as it stays that size.
They don't run, they hop. The cutest things I've seen lately.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend with perfect weather!

What would you do??

I would like to hang these in my kitchen. But I don't know how. Should I hang them as shown or maybe going down. Should I add some ribbon to each one or attach them to a ribbon to hang? Hang them straight across?? Gosh, I'm drawing a blank on this one.

Each piece is ceramic and the frame is metal. I found these at a sale and she only wanted 50 cents for them, so how could I pass that up??
So tell me, how would you display them??????

Welcome Summer!

The joys of opening the pool and keeping it clean.
Picking up all the towels and pool toys.

The joys of going picking, the blueberries were awesome this year!

Keeping the flowers from wilting,

by watering them morning and night.
We've gotten no rain and the temps are in the 90's.

The heat came on fast this year.
Hoping for some relief, until then.
I will water morning and night.

Here is to many lazy summer days!
Happy Summer!
