What Makes You Smile....

Opening the umbrella for the first time,,,,

 Watching the garden grow....

Waiting for the flowers to burst with color.



And tomorrow is Friday! 

It's the simple things that make me smile.

Treasures........

The sun finally came out today.  So nice to have a day of no rain.  Hope there are more

sunny days coming.

I decided to hit the market a couple of towns over.  Everyone is always chatting about it.

Found a mirror with a nice solid wood frame, $1.  The cubical, she only wanted $2 for it.

I know I will use that someplace.  And the metal table, which I had to have $3.

 Got a dog food dispenser for $2, never used.  The chair was  $4, wish he had more.  Very comfortable!

The wooden holder, $2.  Going to look great with some plants in it.  Hanging tea light holder.  From Partylite, $1. And the metal bucket, $2.  Which will look great cleaned up.

I really love these kinds of days.  Coming home with treasures and money in

my pocket.

Now it's time to get dinner started and get ready for the game.

Bunnies and Eggs....

 Pulled out some Styrofoam eggs and some
wooden bunnies that I cut out awhile ago and just haven't gotten to. 
Always nice to go through your stash to see what you have.
Sometimes it's a surprise coming across something that you 
forgot about.  

I have a couple of swaps to do, so this is what I'll be working on this weekend.

The weather has just been awful.  Sure doesn't feel like Spring around here

at all.  Today we have some storms coming though, so it's a good weekend

to stay in.

Peek A Boo....

I see you!  Now here you see a crouching man.  What do you think he is doing?  I'll tell you what he was doing.  This picture was taken from my kitchen.  The crouching man is my neighbor.  What you don't see, is the dogs on the other side of the fence.  My dogs.  I was in the garage and the dogs started going nuts.  Now when you look out of the garage, you see the fence and the dogs barking.  Couldn't see the crouching man.  Tried shaking the cookie jar for them to get in, they wouldn't.  So that is when I ran upstairs to get my trusty bones.  When I looked out the window to see what they were barking at.  This is what I got.

When I got back downstairs to get the dogs in.  The crouching man comes to my door.  Pounding really hard on the door.  Which, I didn't like.  When I opened the door, there was crouching man, swaying back and forth.  Swaying back and forth due to one too many.  If you know what I mean.  He goes on to say, that my dogs bark all the time and he is tired of it.  Well, lets see....been here 10 years, 4 dogs later your coming knocking.    He told me the dogs were out for 2 hours today constantly barking at him.  Okay, since the kids are in school all day, Mom and Dad worked all day.  Who let the dogs out?  My dogs are house dogs, they don't go out unless we are home and we don't let them bark.  It goes through dh when they do bark.    I told him, he was mistaken that nobody was home to let them out.  Then he started to change the story that it was another day.  I told him, when you tease and stare down a dog.  Of course they will bark behind a fence.  Like they did to you. Like I caught you behind my shed a couple of times doing so.    He told me he didn't do that.  That's when I told him,  my husband will be home tomorrow, take it up with him.

Well, dh came home from work that night.  Grabbed my camera and  went straight over there to clear things up.  Needless to say, we haven't seen crouching man since.  This happened Tuesday night.  I'm one for keeping peace with the neighbors.  But things like this, just spin me for a loop.  The only good thing that came from all of this.  I will be putting some more fence up going down his side like I always wanted too!  I think it's the best way to keep the peace.

Happy Spring

 With the weather we've been having, sure doesnt fell like Spring.  But when you look outside, there are some sure signs that Spring is just around the corner.  Buds are starting to come out on the trees and plants are poking through. 

 All the beds need to be cleaned out and mulch needs to be put down.  Was thinking of using just the natural color this year.  All the other years were black.  Looks nice, but with the heat of the sun, some of my plants dont do well. 

Have alot of laundry to hang out.  I have an electric dryer and its just sucking away at my electric bill.  Ouch, when I opened up the bill,  it was the most I've ever had to pay in the 10 years I've been here.  Something has to give.  So hope the sunshine and nice weather stick around a bit so I could stop using it so much.  Knowing that we are in April and April brings those showers for the May flowers.  I could live with that, as long as the cooler weather and snow stays away.

Treasures....

Started going through my treasures that I've stored in boxes.  You know the treasures hat you buy

on sale, only to put them away for another time.  The treasures you must have, even though you dont need.

The treasures you put in a box or a closet, before your husband comes home.  He wouldn't understand why you

had to have what you bought.  Especially when it was on sale or better yet, clearance

I love to buy treasures, even if I dont need it at that time.
If it's on sale or clearance, it yells out, buy me now!
I might not use it when I get home, but I will use it someday. 
You never know when you'll be looking for that treasure, so really need to buy it.

Anybody else collect some "treasures"?? 

While I was going through my things, I managed to make some

mini choc chip muffins.  Gosh, they are so good with a cup of tea.

While cleaning up the yard today, this is what I found.

What a welcome sign it is.  I know winter isn't over.

But this proves, Spring is right around the corner.

Sunday.......

It's a home day today for me. I found a window panel in the thrift store. I folded it in half to give it more thickness. For a buck, great investment!

Worked great for the one window I needed it for.

My cooking for the day. Will be BLT's and crockpot Potato Soup. Yum! I've used this recipe over and over. It's true and tried. So simple to make!

Combine 1 can ckn broth, 4 cups of cubed peeled potatoes, 1 cup chopped onion, 1 cup chopped celery, 1/2 cup sliced carrots, 3 tbl butter, 1 tsp salt and pepper and 3 cloves of chopped garlic. Cook this in the crock for one hour on high. Then turn to low, cook for approx 3 hrs or until vegetables are tender. If ready, turn to high setting. Combine 1/4 cup flour and 1.5 cups of milk. Wisk until well blended. Stir into soup. Cover and cook uncovered for 25 mins or until thick. Stirring frequently. When ready to serve, sprinkle with cheese.

Yum!

Snow Day!

Another round of snow came by last night. Actually, started yesterday morning and

lasted most of the day.

Driving home from work was awful.

When I tried to get in this morning, I turned right around.

Too slippery for me. Didn't feel comfortable driving in it.

Called work, they told me to take the day off.

SNOW DAY!

I love snow days!

So today was all about cleaning, getting ready for the OWOH event and cooking

some turkey chili.
